‘How has the word got around about this show, when today was only the first night?..the drive and pace were fantastic, and the packed audience were howling with laughter. Make sure you don’t miss this show, even if you have to bring your own seat.’ By Caroline May, UK Theatre Network, 25th July 2006.
‘STRANGE THINGS AFOOT IN RIVETING PRODUCTION… The Judgement of Mr Jenkins Midland Hotel Victoria Suite –…sharply written by Ross Andrews and compellingly presented, this is yet another winner in this year’s remarkably impressive 24:7 Theatre Festival’ by Kevin Bourke, Manchester Evening News,28th July 2006.
‘Following the sell out success of this year’s 24:7 Theatre Festival, Bolton Octagon Theatre will be showcasing three of the festival’s most popular plays back to back on Saturday 9th September. This marathon of theatre going will be the third, Three of The Best, night to take place since the festival, in response to extraordinary demand. Plays to be showcased are the hugely popular The Judgement of Mr Jenkins by Ross Andrews…the evening will be a rollercoaster of emotions, celebrating a new injection of writing and creative talent into the theatre world’ Manchester Confidential, 9th September 2006.
‘CAUGHT LIVE – 3 OF THE BEST OF THE 24:7 THEATRE FESTIVAL, BOLTON OCTAGON.…First and my favourite was The Judgement of Mr Jenkins , a darkly humourous morality tale…there were plenty of laughs, what with the afterlife having been privatised and the criteria for entering heaven changed. New modern day sins included not rewinding the cassette before taking it back to the video shop, and it certainly struck a chord with me. Actor Dean Ashton was the star of the night as soul collecting jobsworth Bob Baxter …Any of the plays were good enough to stand alone. I can’t remember the last time I enjoyed myself so much at the theatre.’ By Caroline Dutton, Lancashire Evening Telegraph, 9th September 2006.
